Frangipani Oil
Part of our Oils range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Frangipani Oil captures the sweet, rich, creamy and tropical floral scent of Plumeria flowers. Genuine frangipani is available as a rare and costly absolute obtained by solvent extraction of the flowers, while frangipani fragrance oils recreate the scent for wider use. Both are used in perfumes, attars, cosmetics, soaps, candles and aromatherapy.
Arizone International supplies Frangipani absolute and frangipani fragrance oil for perfumers, attar makers, cosmetic and soap manufacturers, and home fragrance brands.
About Frangipani
Frangipani (Plumeria) is a small tropical tree native to Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. It is now grown throughout the tropics, including India, where it is known as champa, gulachin or chafa, and it is often planted near temples. Its thick, waxy, star-shaped flowers in white, yellow, pink and red release a strong, sweet fragrance, especially in the evening. In Hawaii, the flowers are used to make leis, and in Bali and Sri Lanka they are used in offerings.
The name "frangipani" is linked to a 16th-century Italian nobleman, Marquis Frangipani, who is said to have created a perfumed glove scent that later became associated with the flower.
Types of Frangipani Oil
- Frangipani AbsoluteProduced by solvent extraction of fresh flowers. It is thick, dark and very concentrated, with a true, rich floral scent. Yields are very low, so it is expensive and supply is limited.

- Frangipani Infused Oil or AttarTraditional forms made by infusing flowers into an oil or sandalwood base.
