Fenugreek Oil is an aromatic oil obtained from the seeds of Trigonella foenum-graecum, known in India as methi. It has a warm, sweet, nutty and strongly maple-like aroma. Fenugreek oil is available as a pressed or extracted seed oil, as an oleoresin, and as an absolute or CO2 extract, and it is used in flavours, hair oils, cosmetics and perfumery.
Arizone International supplies Fenugreek Oil and oleoresin for flavour houses, hair and skin care brands, food manufacturers and fragrance companies.
India and Fenugreek
India is by far the world's largest producer of fenugreek, with Rajasthan producing most of the crop, followed by Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Methi seeds are used in tadkas, pickles, spice blends and curries, while the fresh and dried leaves (kasuri methi) are loved for their flavour. Fenugreek is also a common ingredient in traditional Indian hair-care remedies.
