Cyclamen Oil
Part of our Oils range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Cyclamen Oil is a fresh, delicate, floral fragrance oil that recreates the soft scent of cyclamen flowers. The cyclamen plant does not yield a commercial essential oil, so cyclamen oil is a perfumery compound built from aroma materials and natural oils to capture its light, green and watery floral character. It is used in perfumes, attars, soaps, cosmetics, candles and home fragrance.
Arizone International supplies Cyclamen fragrance oil for perfumers, attar makers, soap and cosmetic manufacturers, candle makers and private label brands.
About the Cyclamen Flower
Cyclamen is a small perennial plant native to the Mediterranean, the Middle East and parts of Europe. It has heart-shaped, often silver-patterned leaves and graceful flowers with swept-back petals in pink, red, purple and white. Some wild cyclamen species have a sweet, delicate fragrance, and the plant is a popular winter houseplant around the world.
Why Cyclamen Oil Is a Fragrance Compound
Like lily of the valley, lilac and gardenia, cyclamen is one of the "mute" flowers in perfumery. Its natural scent is too faint, and the yield too small, to be extracted commercially. Perfumers therefore create the scent using carefully selected aroma chemicals and natural materials. The famous aroma chemical "cyclamen aldehyde" was developed and named for its fresh, floral note reminiscent of cyclamen, and it is still used in many fragrances.
