Bhringraj Root comes from Eclipta prostrata, a small herb known in Ayurveda as Bhringraj, the "king of hair". The root and whole plant are used in Ayurvedic hair oils, liver wellness preparations and herbal powders, and are a key raw material for Bhringraj extracts.

Arizone International supplies Bhringraj (Eclipta Prostrata) Root to herbal, Ayurvedic, food and nutraceutical manufacturers, traders, private label brands and bulk buyers. Grade, cut size, cleaning level, packaging and quantity can all be set to your specification.

What Is

Eclipta prostrata, also called false daisy, is a small annual herb with white flowers that grows in damp places across India and much of Asia. In Ayurveda the whole plant, including root, stem, leaves and flowers, is used, although leaves and aerial parts are the most common. The roots are pulled, washed, dried and cut.

The plant contains coumestans such as wedelolactone, along with flavonoids and other compounds. When crushed, the fresh plant turns black, which is linked to its traditional use in hair dyes and hair oils.

After harvest, the material is dried in the sun or shade, then cleaned to remove stones, dust, stems and other foreign matter, and sorted by size and quality. It can be supplied whole, cut into smaller pieces for tea and extraction, or milled into coarse or fine powder. For food and ready-to-use products, steam sterilisation can be arranged to bring microbial counts within export limits.

Tips for Buyers and Formulators

State whether you need root only or the whole plant, as most commercial Bhringraj is supplied as aerial parts or whole plant.

Bhringraj grows in wet places, so ask for heavy metal and microbiology results.

For hair oils, Bhringraj is usually cooked slowly in sesame or coconut oil with other herbs such as amla and brahmi, following classical methods. Coarse powder or cut material works best for this, while fine powder suits hair packs and capsules. We can supply the cut size you need.
