Dry Orange Peel is the dried outer rind of sweet orange fruits, Citrus sinensis. With its fresh citrus aroma and bright colour, it is a versatile ingredient in herbal teas, spice blends, bakery, face packs and cosmetics, and a raw material for orange peel powder and extracts.

Arizone International supplies Dry Orange Peel to herbal, Ayurvedic, food and nutraceutical manufacturers, traders, private label brands and bulk buyers. Grade, cut size, cleaning level, packaging and quantity can all be set to your specification.

What Is

India is a large producer of oranges, with major growing areas in Maharashtra (Nagpur), Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab. After juicing or peeling, the rinds are collected, cleaned and dried in the sun or in dryers until crisp.

Orange peel contains natural essential oil, mainly limonene, along with flavonoids such as hesperidin, pectin and fibre. The drying method affects colour and aroma: gentle drying keeps a bright orange colour and a stronger citrus smell.

After harvest, the material is dried in the sun or shade, then cleaned to remove stones, dust, stems and other foreign matter, and sorted by size and quality. It can be supplied whole, cut into smaller pieces for tea and extraction, or milled into coarse or fine powder. For food and ready-to-use products, steam sterilisation can be arranged to bring microbial counts within export limits.

Key Features

  • Fresh citrus aromaNatural limonene gives a bright, fresh smell.
  • Versatile ingredientUsed in food, teas and cosmetics.
  • By-product sourcingMade from peel left after juicing, supporting a sustainability story.
  • Flexible formatsPieces, tea cut or powder are available.

Applications

  • Spice and seasoning blends
  • Bakery and confectionery
  • Face packs and cosmetics
  • Raw material for pectin and extracts

Formulation, dosage, safety assessment, labelling and permitted claims of the finished product must comply with the regulations of the intended market. Orange peel is widely used in food; as it is the outer skin of the fruit, pesticide residue testing is important, and people allergic to citrus should avoid it.

Quality Parameters

  • Colour and aroma
  • Cut size and dust content
  • Pesticide residues
  • Moisture, total ash, acid-insoluble ash and foreign matter
  • Heavy metals, microbiology and pesticide residues where applicable
  • Batch consistency and Certificate of Analysis with every lot

Tips for Buyers and Formulators

Always ask for pesticide residue tests, as peel can carry residues from fruit spraying.

Store the peel sealed and away from light and heat, as the citrus oil fades over time.

For tea blends, tea-bag cut peel of 2 mm to 4 mm mixes evenly with black tea, green tea and herbs. For face packs, a fine powder of 80 to 100 mesh gives a smooth texture. Tell us your use and we will match the cut size and cleaning level.
