Aloe Vera Leaves are the thick, fleshy leaves of Aloe barbadensis Miller, one of the best-known plants in herbal and cosmetic products worldwide. The leaves hold a clear inner gel and a yellow outer latex, and both are used as raw materials for gels, juices, powders and extracts.

Arizone International supplies Aloe Vera Leaves to herbal, Ayurvedic, food and nutraceutical manufacturers, traders, private label brands and bulk buyers. Grade, cut size, cleaning level, packaging and quantity can all be set to your specification.

What Is

Aloe vera is a succulent that grows well in the dry, warm parts of India, especially Rajasthan and Gujarat. Each leaf has three layers: the green outer skin, a thin yellow layer of latex just below it, and the clear inner gel. The gel is rich in polysaccharides such as acemannan, while the latex contains aloin, a bitter anthraquinone with a strong laxative effect.

Fresh leaves are processed quickly after cutting, because the gel starts to break down within hours. For longer storage and export, the leaves are cut into pieces and dried, or processed into powder.

After harvest, the material is dried in the sun or shade, then cleaned to remove stones, dust, stems and other foreign matter, and sorted by size and quality. It can be supplied whole, cut into smaller pieces for tea and extraction, or milled into coarse or fine powder. For food and ready-to-use products, steam sterilisation can be arranged to bring microbial counts within export limits.

Key Features

  • Globally known plantAloe vera is one of the most familiar herbal ingredients.
  • Two useful partsInner gel and outer leaf serve different product types.
  • Indian cultivationAloe is grown widely in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
  • Flexible supplyDried pieces, powder or fresh leaves on request.

Applications

  • Aloe gel and juice processing
  • Cosmetic creams, gels and shampoos
  • Herbal powders and churnas
  • Raw material for aloe extracts
  • Ayurvedic preparations

Formulation, dosage, safety assessment, labelling and permitted claims of the finished product must comply with the regulations of the intended market. Whole-leaf aloe containing aloin has a strong laxative effect and is restricted in food supplements in several markets, so products for internal use should use decolourised inner-leaf material with aloin below the local limit.

Quality Parameters

  • Verified Aloe barbadensis identity
  • Aloin content (important for internal-use products)
  • Polysaccharide or acemannan content where specified
  • Moisture, total ash, acid-insoluble ash and foreign matter
  • Heavy metals, microbiology and pesticide residues where applicable
  • Batch consistency and Certificate of Analysis with every lot

Tips for Buyers and Formulators

Decide early whether you need whole-leaf or inner-leaf material, as aloin content decides where the product can be sold.

Fresh leaves must be processed quickly after cutting, so for most export orders dried pieces or powder are more practical.

The gel is the clear inner part of the leaf, rich in polysaccharides. The latex is the yellow layer under the skin and contains aloin, a strong laxative.

Fresh leaves can be supplied for regional orders. For export, dried leaf pieces or powder are usually more practical.

Inner-leaf gel with low aloin is used in drinks and supplements. Whole-leaf material with aloin is a strong laxative and is restricted in many markets.

Aloe Vera Leaves can be supplied whole, cut to your size, or as coarse or fine powder. Steam-sterilised material is available for food and ready-to-use products.
