Part of our Oils range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Sugandh Kokila Oil is a warm, spicy, woody and camphoraceous essential oil steam distilled from the dried berries of Cinnamomum glaucescens (also known as Cinnamomum cecidodaphne), a tree of the cinnamon family native to the Himalayan foothills. It is a traditional Nepalese and Indian aromatic oil used in aromatherapy, massage, perfumery, incense and Ayurvedic preparations.
Arizone International supplies Sugandh Kokila Oil for aromatherapy brands, Ayurvedic product makers, perfumers and incense manufacturers.
About Sugandh Kokila
Cinnamomum glaucescens is a tall evergreen tree that grows in the subtropical forests of Nepal, north-east India, Bhutan and Myanmar. The name "sugandh kokila" means "fragrant cuckoo" in Sanskrit, a poetic name for its aromatic berries. The oil is produced mainly in Nepal, where the berries are collected from the wild by local communities in the central and western regions, especially around the Gorkha and Makwanpur districts. It is an important non-timber forest product and a source of income for rural families.
In India and Nepal, the dried berries are used in incense, in dhoop and in traditional Ayurvedic formulations.

Packaging and Storage
Supplied in aluminium bottles, HDPE containers or drums. Store tightly closed in a cool, dark place.
Sugandh kokila is sometimes compared to ravintsara and eucalyptus in aromatherapy, but it has a warmer, spicier character. It blends well with lavender, frankincense, cedarwood, rosemary and orange.
Tips for Buyers and Formulators
Sugandh kokila adds a warm, spicy-camphor note to massage oils and incense. Because it comes from wild-collected berries, ask for a GC report with each lot to check consistency.
