Chia Seeds are small, oval, naturally dark seeds valued for their versatility, convenient size and mild taste. They are a popular choice for food manufacturers, health-focused brands, wholesalers and distributors, and are widely used in breakfast mixes, bakery products, smoothies, drinks, nutrition blends and snacks.
Arizone International supplies high-quality Chia Seeds, including black chia seeds, for commercial and bulk requirements. Product specifications, cleaning, packaging and quantities can be customised to the intended application.
What Are Chia Seeds?
Chia Seeds come from Salvia hispanica, a flowering plant of the mint family native to Mexico and Guatemala. The word "chia" is believed to come from the Nahuatl language, and chia was an important food crop for the Aztecs. Today it is grown in Latin America and, increasingly, in India, especially in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka.
Most chia seeds are a speckled mix of black, grey and brown, while a smaller share are white. When mixed with liquid, chia seeds absorb moisture and form a gel-like coating, a property that makes them useful in creative food and drink products. Their mild taste means they blend easily with other ingredients without changing the overall flavour.
