Siwak Powder Miswak
Part of our Herbs range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Siwak Powder, also called Miswak Powder, is made from the roots and twigs of Salvadora persica, the "toothbrush tree". For more than a thousand years, people across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia have chewed miswak sticks to clean their teeth, and the finely ground powder brings this traditional oral-care ingredient into tooth powders, toothpastes and mouthwashes.
Arizone International supplies Siwak (Miswak) Powder and miswak sticks for oral-care brands, herbal toothpaste and tooth powder makers, Middle Eastern and Islamic market suppliers, wholesalers and exporters.
The Toothbrush Tree
Salvadora persica is an evergreen shrub or small tree that grows in dry regions of the Middle East, Africa, Pakistan and India, where it is known as peelu or jaal and grows in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Its soft, fibrous roots and twigs have a mildly spicy, peppery taste. When one end of a stick is chewed, the fibres separate into a natural brush. The use of miswak is strongly encouraged in Islamic tradition, and it remains popular among Muslims worldwide.
The World Health Organization has recognised the use of chewing sticks such as miswak as an effective tool for oral hygiene when used correctly, and many modern studies have looked at its cleaning action.

Safety Notes
Miswak is for oral-care use and should not be swallowed in large amounts. Coarse powders may be abrasive; fine grades are recommended for regular use. People with sensitive gums should use gentle products.
