Jasmine Flower Powder is made from the dried flowers of jasmine, most commonly Jasminum sambac (mogra) and Jasminum grandiflorum (chameli). Jasmine is one of India's most loved flowers, woven into hair garlands, offered in temples and prized in perfumery, and its powder is used in teas, face packs, bath powders and natural cosmetics.
Arizone International supplies Jasmine Flower Powder and dried jasmine flowers for tea blenders, cosmetic and skincare brands, bath and spa product makers, wholesalers and exporters.
India's Flower of Fragrance
India is one of the largest producers of jasmine in the world. Tamil Nadu leads, and Madurai malli (Madurai jasmine) has received a Geographical Indication tag for its strong fragrance. Jasmine is also grown widely in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. The flowers are picked by hand as buds early in the morning and open in the evening, when their scent is strongest.
In Ayurveda, jasmine (Mallika and Jati) is considered cooling, and it is traditionally used in skin preparations and oils. In China and Southeast Asia, jasmine flowers are used to scent green tea, creating jasmine tea.
What Jasmine Flowers Contain
- Aromatic CompoundsIncluding benzyl acetate, linalool, indole and jasmone, although dried flowers keep only part of the fresh scent.
- Flavonoids and Phenolic CompoundsPresent in the petals.
- Natural ColourDried flowers range from cream to light brown.
Applications
- Herbal and floral tea blends, including jasmine green tea blends
- Face packs, ubtan and natural skincare powders
- Bath powders, bath salts and bath teas
- Soaps, scrubs and body care products
- Hair packs and herbal hair oils
- Potpourri, incense and aromatic sachets
A Note on Fragrance
The intense scent of fresh jasmine comes from delicate volatile compounds that are partly lost during drying. Dried jasmine powder therefore has a softer, sweeter floral note. For strong fragrance, perfumers use jasmine absolute or concrete, which are extracted from fresh flowers. Jasmine powder is valued more for its natural image, gentle aroma and appearance in products.
Quality Parameters
- Jasmine species (sambac or grandiflorum)
- Colour, aroma and particle size
- Moisture and freedom from stems and leaves
- Microbiology, pesticide residues and heavy metals
Packaging and Storage
Jasmine Flower Powder is packed in airtight, light-protective bags to preserve its aroma. Store in a cool, dry, dark place.
Safety Notes
Jasmine is widely used in teas and cosmetics. A patch test is recommended for skin use, as floral ingredients can occasionally cause sensitivity. Food use must follow local rules.
Tips for Buyers and Formulators
Jasmine flower powder is used mainly in face packs and bath products. Keep packs sealed to protect aroma, and ask for microbiology results for cosmetic use.
Tell us the mesh size you need for face packs, bath powders or blends, and we will match the grade.
