Hibiscus Powder is made from the dried calyces of Hibiscus sabdariffa, also called roselle. It is a deep red, tart powder naturally rich in anthocyanins and organic acids, used in teas, drinks, foods and cosmetics.

About Hibiscus
Hibiscus sabdariffa is grown in tropical regions across Asia and Africa. Its fleshy red calyces, which surround the seed pod, are used for drinks such as karkade and agua de jamaica. Haircare products often use a different species, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, so the species should be confirmed.
How Hibiscus Powder Is Made
Calyces are separated from the seed pods, dried and milled to the required mesh. Gentle drying helps keep the bright red colour.
