Guarana Powder
Part of our Herbs range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Guarana Powder is made from the roasted seeds of Paullinia cupana, a climbing plant from the Amazon rainforest. Guarana seeds are one of the richest natural sources of caffeine, containing roughly twice as much caffeine as coffee beans, which has made guarana a key ingredient in energy drinks, sports supplements and Brazilian soft drinks.
Arizone International supplies Guarana Seed Powder and guarana extract for energy drink and beverage makers, sports nutrition brands, supplement manufacturers, wholesalers and exporters.
The Amazon's Energy Seed
Guarana grows in the Amazon basin, especially in the Brazilian state of Amazonas around the town of Maués, which is famous for its guarana. The plant produces clusters of bright red fruits that split open to show black seeds surrounded by white pulp, giving them the appearance of eyes. According to a legend of the Sateré-Mawé people, who first cultivated guarana, the plant grew from the eyes of a beloved child. Indigenous people traditionally roasted and ground the seeds, then shaped the paste into sticks that were grated into water to make an energising drink.
Today, guarana is Brazil's national soft drink flavour, and guarana sodas are among the most popular drinks in the country.

Caffeine Labelling and Limits
Because guarana is a caffeine source, the total caffeine per serving must be calculated and stated on labels in most markets. Many countries set limits or require warnings for caffeine in foods and supplements, especially for children, pregnant women and people sensitive to caffeine. We provide caffeine content for every batch so that brands can label accurately.
Safety Notes
Guarana can cause the same effects as other caffeine sources, including restlessness, sleep problems, fast heartbeat and increased blood pressure. It is not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or people with heart conditions, anxiety or high blood pressure. It should not be combined with other high-caffeine products.
