Erand Mool Powder
Part of our Herbs range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Erand Mool Powder is made from the dried root of the castor plant, Ricinus communis, known in Ayurveda as Eranda. While castor seeds are best known for castor oil, the root has its own important place in Ayurveda, where it is traditionally regarded as one of the leading herbs for balancing Vata and supporting comfort in the joints and back.
Arizone International supplies Erand Mool Powder and dried root for Ayurvedic manufacturers, herbal oil and churna makers, wholesalers and exporters.
Eranda in Ayurveda
The castor plant grows throughout India, from gardens and roadsides to large farms in Gujarat and Rajasthan, which lead the world in castor seed production. Ayurvedic texts describe Eranda root as one of the best Vatahara (Vata-pacifying) herbs. It is traditionally used in formulas for joint stiffness, lower back discomfort, sciatica-like pain and digestive complaints linked with Vata. Eranda root is an ingredient in classical preparations such as Rasnadi Kashaya and several oils and decoctions, and castor oil itself (Eranda Taila) is used in Ayurvedic purification therapies.
Root vs Seed: An Important Difference
Castor seeds contain ricin, a highly toxic protein, and must never be eaten raw. Erand Mool Powder is made only from the root, not the seeds. Correct sourcing and processing, with no seed material mixed in, is therefore essential. We supply root material that is checked for identity and freedom from seeds and other plant parts.
