Dashmool Powder is a classical Ayurvedic blend of ten roots. "Dash" means ten and "mool" means root, and the formula is one of the most widely used combinations in Ayurveda, traditionally for balancing Vata, supporting joint and muscle comfort, and helping women recover after childbirth.

The Ten Roots
Dashmool is made from two groups of five roots each:
- Brihat Panchamool (Five Greater Roots)From trees: Bilva (Aegle marmelos), Agnimantha (Premna species), Shyonaka (Oroxylum indicum), Patala (Stereospermum suaveolens) and Gambhari (Gmelina arborea).
- Laghu Panchamool (Five Lesser Roots)From small plants: Shalaparni (Desmodium gangeticum), Prishniparni (Uraria picta), Brihati (Solanum indicum), Kantakari (Solanum virginianum) and Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris).
In practice, the bark of the larger roots or stems is often used for the tree species, following traditional pharmacy guidelines.

Sourcing and Authenticity
Several dashmool trees, such as Shyonaka and Patala, are under pressure from overharvesting, and some roots are difficult to source in large quantities. Adulteration and substitution are common in the trade. We work with experienced herb suppliers, check the identity of each component and follow classical proportions, so that the formula is authentic and consistent.

Packaging and Storage
Packed in poly-lined bags or jars. Store in a cool, dry place in closed packaging.
Dashmool is also used externally in traditional Ayurvedic therapies. Warm dashmool decoction is used for fomentation (swedana) and as a base for medicated enemas (basti) in Panchakarma treatments, always under the supervision of trained practitioners.
Coarse kwath grades are packed separately from fine churna.
