Coconut Milk Powder is a creamy, white, free-flowing powder made by spray-drying fresh coconut milk. Just add water and it turns back into rich coconut milk, ready for curries, desserts, beverages and baking. It is lighter to transport, easier to store and lasts much longer than canned or liquid coconut milk.
Arizone International supplies Coconut Milk Powder for food manufacturers, restaurants and food service, beverage and dessert companies, vegan product brands, wholesalers and exporters.
How Coconut Milk Powder Is Made
Coconut milk is not the water found inside a young coconut. It is made by grating the white flesh of mature coconuts and pressing it, often with a little water, to extract a thick, creamy liquid. For powder, this coconut milk is blended with a carrier, most commonly maltodextrin, and sometimes a small amount of protein or emulsifier, then spray-dried into fine particles. The result is a powder that typically contains a high percentage of coconut fat.
India is one of the world's leading coconut producers, with Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh growing most of the crop. Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand are also major producers of coconut milk powder.
Vegan or Not? Check the Carrier
Some coconut milk powders use sodium caseinate, a milk protein, to improve creaminess and stability. These are not suitable for vegan or dairy-free products and must be labelled for milk allergens. We offer dairy-free versions made without caseinate for vegan and allergen-sensitive markets. Please specify your requirement.
