About Lemongrass
Lemongrass is a tall, aromatic grass that grows in dense clumps. India is a major producer, with cultivation in Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and the north-eastern states. East Indian or Cochin lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) has long been grown in Kerala for its oil, while West Indian lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is the type used in Southeast Asian cooking and teas. In India, lemongrass is often added to masala chai.

Safety
Lemongrass is safe in food and tea amounts. Concentrated products are not recommended during pregnancy. In cosmetics, citral can irritate sensitive skin, so a patch test is recommended.
