Part of our Capsules range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Baheda Capsules are Ayurvedic supplements made from the dried fruit of Terminalia bellirica, known as Bibhitaki in Sanskrit and Baheda in Hindi. Baheda is one of the three fruits in Triphala, the most famous Ayurvedic formula, and it is also sold on its own for digestive and general wellness.
Arizone International manufactures Baheda Capsules in India for private label, contract manufacturing, wholesale and bulk buyers. You choose the strength, the capsule type, any partner ingredients and the pack, and we take care of production, testing, packing and export documents.
Terminalia bellirica is a large deciduous tree that grows across India and South-East Asia. Its round, grey-brown fruits are dried and used in herbal medicine. The fruit rind is rich in tannins, such as gallic acid and ellagic acid, and other plant compounds.
In Ayurveda, Baheda is traditionally used for digestive and respiratory wellness, and it is combined with Amla and Haritaki in equal parts to make Triphala. For capsules it is used as deseeded fruit powder or as a concentrated extract.
Baheda Capsules are filled as a fine powder or extract into hard capsules, either HPMC (vegetarian) or gelatin, usually in size 0 or 00. The fill weight, the strength of the active material and any partner ingredients are set in the specification, so every capsule in a batch carries the same amount. Capsules also hide the taste and smell of the raw material, which makes them easier for customers to take every day than a loose powder.
Label claims must follow the rules of the market where the product is sold, and we can help you keep the wording within those limits.
The serving size should follow the finished product label. Baheda can have a mild laxative effect in some people. Labels should advise pregnant or breastfeeding women and anyone taking medication to consult a healthcare professional before use.
Every batch is supplied with a certificate of analysis. Typical checks include botanical identity, tannin content (for extracts), loss on drying, heavy metals, microbiology, and capsule weight variation and disintegration.
Ask for deseeded fruit powder, as the seeds add weight but little value, and ask for tannin content if you need a standardised extract.
Baheda powder absorbs moisture, so keep it in sealed packs with a desiccant; we can also make Triphala capsules to your ratio.
