Wheatgerm Oil is a rich, golden oil pressed from the germ of the wheat kernel, Triticum vulgare. The germ is the small part of the grain that would grow into a new plant, and its oil is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin E, which has made it a favourite in skin care, hair care and nutrition products.
Arizone International supplies Wheatgerm Oil for cosmetic manufacturing, softgel and food applications, private label ranges, wholesale and bulk orders, with processing, packaging and quantities set to your needs.
When wheat is milled into white flour, the germ is separated because its oil would make the flour go stale. This germ is collected and pressed or extracted to produce wheatgerm oil. India is one of the largest wheat producers in the world, which gives a steady local supply of raw material.
The oil is rich in linoleic acid, usually around 55%, along with oleic and alpha-linolenic acids. Its best-known feature is its natural vitamin E content, mainly alpha-tocopherol, which is higher than in almost any other vegetable oil. It also contains octacosanol and plant sterols. The oil is thick, with a strong, grain-like smell in its virgin form.
Formulation, concentration, safety assessment, labelling and permitted claims of the final product must comply with the regulations of the intended market. As with any botanical oil, a patch test is advisable before direct skin use.
Wheatgerm oil comes from wheat, so check the allergen labelling rules in your market; in the EU and UK, for example, products made from wheat must usually declare it. Ask for tocopherol content if vitamin E is part of your product story, and store the oil cool and sealed, as its polyunsaturated fats can oxidise.

We support wholesale supply, bulk orders, private label development and customised specifications for processing, packaging, labelling and quantity.

The wheat germ stores nutrients for the new plant, and its oil is naturally very high in tocopherols, the main forms of vitamin E.
The oil contains very little protein, but it comes from wheat, so allergen labelling rules for wheat may apply in your market.
