Coconut Oil is pressed from the white kernel of the coconut, Cocos nucifera. In South India, it is part of daily life: poured on hair before a bath, used for cooking in Kerala homes, rubbed on babies' skin and used in temple lamps. Worldwide, it is one of the most important oils for cosmetics, soaps and food.
Arizone International supplies Coconut Oil in virgin, refined and fractionated forms for cosmetic manufacturers, soap makers, food processors, wholesalers and private label businesses.
Types of Coconut Oil
- Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO)Made from fresh coconut kernel or coconut milk without high heat or chemicals. It keeps a light, fresh coconut aroma and is water-clear when liquid.
- Refined (RBD) Coconut OilMade from dried copra, then refined, bleached and deodorised. It is neutral in smell and taste and widely used in soaps, cosmetics and cooking.
- Fractionated Coconut OilThe lighter fraction of coconut oil, rich in caprylic and capric acids (medium-chain triglycerides). It stays liquid at room temperature and is a favourite in massage oils and aromatherapy blends.
Why Coconut Oil Turns Solid
Coconut oil is unusual among plant oils because it is mostly saturated fat. It melts at around 24°C to 25°C, so it is liquid in a Chennai summer but solid in a Delhi winter. This is natural and does not affect quality. Its high saturated fat content also makes it very stable against rancidity.
Composition
- Lauric acid, typically about 45% to 50%, the main fatty acid
- Myristic, caprylic, capric and palmitic acids
- Small amounts of oleic and linoleic acid
- Natural polyphenols and tocopherols in virgin oil
Applications
- Hair oils and pre-wash hair treatments
- Soaps, where it gives a hard bar and rich lather
- Body butters, lotions, lip balms and baby oils
- Massage and aromatherapy blends (fractionated grade)
- Cooking, bakery, confectionery and food processing
- Oil pulling products and oral-care formulations
- Private label coconut oil ranges
Indian Origin
India is one of the world's leading coconut producers, with Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh growing most of the crop. The name Kerala is often linked to "kera", the Malayalam word for coconut palm.
Quality Parameters
- Free fatty acid content and acid value
- Peroxide value and moisture
- Iodine value, saponification value and melting point
- Lauric acid content and fatty acid profile
- Colour, odour and clarity
- Microbiology for virgin oil, and heavy metals
Packaging and Storage
Available in drums, tins, jerry cans, HDPE bottles and flexitanks. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If the oil solidifies, gently warm it; it will return to liquid without any change in quality.
Tips for Buyers and Formulators
Choose virgin coconut oil when you want the natural coconut aroma, refined oil for a neutral base, and fractionated oil for massage and serums that must stay liquid. Solid coconut oil can be melted gently in a warm room or water bath before use.

Compliance
Fractionated Coconut Oil is the liquid part of coconut oil, rich in medium-chain fatty acids. It stays liquid and has almost no smell.
Coconut Oil becomes solid below about 24°C. This is completely normal, and it melts again when warmed.
Refined Coconut Oil is commonly used in soap because it gives a hard bar and rich lather at an affordable cost.
Each batch comes with a COA that covers acid value, peroxide value and other key tests. A fatty acid profile is available on request.
Coconut Oil is supplied in 1 kg to 50 kg HDPE cans, 180 to 200 kg drums, and IBC tanks for large orders.
We export Coconut Oil from India to buyers in the USA, the UK, the EU, the Middle East, Australia and 40+ other countries. Orders ship by sea or air on EXW, FOB, CIF or DAP terms, with a certificate of analysis and a certificate of origin.
