Boron Tablet
Part of our Nutraceuticals range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Boron Tablets are trace mineral supplements that provide boron, a mineral found in fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes. Boron is not yet classed as an essential nutrient in every country, but it has attracted steady research interest for its role in bone health, joint comfort and the way the body uses calcium, magnesium and vitamin D.
Arizone International manufactures and supplies Boron Tablets using well-defined boron compounds, alone or in bone and joint formulas, for nutraceutical brands and private label businesses.
About Boron
Boron is a light element that plants need for strong cell walls. People get most of their boron from plant foods such as avocados, prunes, raisins, almonds, peanuts, apples and dried beans. Intake varies widely depending on diet and on the boron content of local soils. Turkey holds a large share of the world's boron reserves, and boron compounds such as borax have been used for centuries in glass, ceramics and cleaning.
Early research in the 1980s and 1990s suggested that boron influences how the body handles calcium and magnesium and may affect levels of steroid hormones and vitamin D. Some population studies also noted lower rates of joint problems in regions with higher boron intake.
Forms of Boron
- Calcium FructoborateA plant-identical form, a complex of boron with fructose and calcium, used in joint and bone research.
- Boron Citrate and Boron GlycinateCommon forms in general mineral supplements.
- Sodium BorateUsed in some formulations, within regulatory limits.
Applications
- Bone health formulas with calcium, magnesium, vitamin D3 and K2
- Joint comfort supplements with glucosamine, boswellia or turmeric
- Men's and women's wellness blends
- Multimineral tablets
- Private label mineral ranges
Claims for boron are limited in many markets because it is not always recognised as essential. Brands should position it carefully and follow local rules.
Formulation Notes
Supplement doses are usually small, commonly 1 mg to 3 mg of elemental boron per day. Because the amount per tablet is tiny, boron is typically blended with other minerals or used as a pre-mix to ensure even distribution. We label boron by its elemental content.
Safety Notes
Boron is safe at normal supplement levels, but high intakes can be harmful. Upper limits are set in several regions; for example, the European Food Safety Authority has set a tolerable upper intake of 10 mg per day for adults. Because boron may affect hormone levels, people with hormone-sensitive conditions, and pregnant or breastfeeding women, should consult a doctor. People with kidney problems should avoid boron supplements.
Quality Considerations
- Boron compound identity and elemental boron assay
- Content uniformity for low-dose tablets
- Heavy metals and microbiology
- Tablet hardness and disintegration
- Batch consistency and Certificate of Analysis
Tips for Buyers and Formulators
Boron is usually added as boron citrate or glycinate at 1 mg to 3 mg. Check the maximum permitted dose in your target market, as limits differ between countries.
