Lavan Bhaskar Powder
Part of our Herbs range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Lavan Bhaskar Powder (Lavan Bhaskar Churna) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation made from a blend of salts and digestive spices. As the name suggests, "lavan" meaning salt and "bhaskar" meaning sun, it is traditionally described as kindling the digestive fire like the sun. It is one of the most familiar Ayurvedic churnas for appetite, gas and indigestion.
Arizone International manufactures and supplies Lavan Bhaskar Churna in bulk and private label packs for Ayurvedic companies, digestive wellness brands, pharmacies, wholesalers and exporters.
The Classical Formula
Lavan Bhaskar Churna is described in classical Ayurvedic texts such as Sharangadhara Samhita. The formula combines several salts with aromatic and pungent spices. Following the classical reference, it includes ingredients such as:
- SaltsSamudra lavan (sea salt), Sauvarchal lavan (black salt or kala namak), Vid lavan and Saindhava lavan (rock salt).
- Digestive SpicesJeera (cumin), Kala jeera, Dhaniya (coriander), Pippali (long pepper), Pippali mool, Maricha (black pepper) and Shunthi (dry ginger).
- AromaticsDalchini (cinnamon), Talispatra, Nagkesar and Ela (cardamom).
- Sour IngredientsAmlavetas and Anardana (dried pomegranate seeds), which give a tangy taste.
The result is a salty, tangy, pleasantly spicy powder with a strong digestive character.
Traditional Use
In Ayurvedic practice, Lavan Bhaskar Churna is traditionally used for loss of appetite, indigestion, gas, bloating and mild constipation, particularly where digestion is described as weak or sluggish. It is usually taken after meals with buttermilk or warm water, or as advised by a practitioner.
Applications
- Classical churna in bulk or retail packs
- Tablets and chewable digestive tablets

Safety Notes
Because Lavan Bhaskar Churna is high in salt, it is not suitable for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease or fluid retention, or for those on salt-restricted diets. It should not be used for long periods without advice, and it is not recommended during pregnancy or for people with acidity and ulcers. Persistent digestive symptoms should be checked by a doctor.
Quality Parameters
- Identity and quality of each ingredient
- Formulation as per the classical reference
- Uniform blending and particle size
- Moisture (salts attract moisture)
- Microbiology, heavy metals, aflatoxins and pesticides
- Compliance with Ayurvedic pharmacopoeial standards and licensing
Packaging and Storage
Because it contains salts, the churna absorbs moisture easily. It is packed in moisture-proof bags or airtight jars and should be kept tightly closed in a cool, dry place.
Chewable tablet forms are also popular.
It is traditionally taken with buttermilk after heavy meals to support digestion.
Tips for Buyers and Formulators
Lavan Bhaskar churna contains salt, so check the sodium content for labelling. Keep it sealed, as salt absorbs moisture.
Ask for the ingredient list and ratio to make sure it follows the classical text.
