Arizone International supplies Ylang Ylang Extract to perfumers, cosmetic and skin care manufacturers, hair care brands and private label businesses.
About Ylang Ylang
The ylang ylang tree has drooping, star-shaped yellow flowers with an intense, sweet, exotic fragrance. The name comes from the Tagalog word for "flower of flowers". The Comoros islands and Madagascar produce most of the world's ylang ylang, and the flowers are picked by hand early in the morning when their scent is strongest. In Indonesia, the flowers are scattered on the bed of newly married couples. Ylang ylang is a key note in many famous perfumes.
Forms of Ylang Ylang Extract
- Ylang Ylang AbsoluteMade by solvent extraction of the flowers. It is thick and rich, with the fullest floral scent, and is used in fine perfumery.
- Ylang Ylang CO2 ExtractMade with supercritical CO2, giving a true-to-flower scent without solvent residues.
- Floral Water or Glycerine ExtractMild, water-soluble extracts for toners, mists and gentle skin care.
Ylang ylang essential oil, which is steam distilled in fractions (Extra, I, II, III), is listed separately in our essential oil range.

Quality Parameters
- Form and botanical source (Cananga odorata var. genuina)

Ylang Ylang absolute and CO2 extract are supplied in aluminium or amber glass bottles, and water-based extracts in HDPE containers. Store in a cool, dark place in tightly closed containers.
