Marigold Capsules are supplements made with extract from the petals of the African marigold, Tagetes erecta. The bright orange flowers you see in Indian garlands, temples and weddings are also the world's leading commercial source of lutein and zeaxanthin, two carotenoids that concentrate in the eye.

From Garland Flower to Supplement
Marigold, or genda phool, is grown in huge quantities across India, especially in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Alongside the flower trade, a large contract-farming industry grows marigold specifically for extraction. The petals are dried, milled and extracted to produce an oleoresin rich in lutein esters, which can then be refined into lutein powders, beadlets or crystals. India is one of the main global suppliers of marigold lutein.
Do not confuse Tagetes erecta with Calendula officinalis, the pot marigold, which is used mainly in skin care.
What Marigold Extract Provides

Formulation Options
For hard capsules, we use stabilised lutein beadlets or powders (for example 5%, 10% or 20% lutein). Common doses are 10 mg to 20 mg lutein per serving, often with 2 mg to 4 mg zeaxanthin, following the levels used in major eye-health studies such as AREDS2. Softgels with lutein oil suspension are also possible. Because carotenoids are fat-soluble, labels usually advise taking the product with a meal.
Stability
Lutein breaks down with exposure to light, heat and oxygen. We use beadlet or microencapsulated forms, recommend opaque bottles or Alu-Alu blisters, and can provide stability data to support your shelf-life claims.
Safety Notes
Lutein from marigold is widely used and generally well tolerated at supplement levels. People with allergies to plants in the daisy family should take care. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and people on medication should consult a doctor before starting any new supplement.
