What Is Neutral Henna?
True henna comes from Lawsonia inermis and contains lawsone, the pigment that stains hair and skin red-orange. Neutral henna comes from a different plant, Senna italica, a small shrub of the legume family that grows in dry regions of Africa, the Middle East and India. Its leaves contain only a small amount of a golden-yellow dye, so on dark hair it gives no visible colour. On very light blonde, grey or white hair, it may leave a faint yellowish tint, so a strand test is recommended.

How to Use
Neutral henna powder is mixed with warm water, and sometimes with yoghurt, aloe vera or a little oil, to form a smooth paste.
