Vasaka Capsules are herbal supplements made from the leaves of Adhatoda vasica, a shrub known in India as Adulsa or Malabar nut. Vasaka is one of the most familiar herbs in Ayurvedic respiratory formulas, and it is widely used in herbal syrups, teas and capsules for seasonal and throat wellness.
Arizone International manufactures Vasaka Capsules in India for private label, contract manufacturing, wholesale and bulk buyers. You choose the strength, the capsule type, any partner ingredients and the pack, and we take care of production, testing, packing and export documents.
Vasaka (botanical name Justicia adhatoda, also listed as Adhatoda vasica) is an evergreen shrub that grows across India and South Asia. Its large, lance-shaped leaves are the part used in herbal products. The leaves contain alkaloids, the best known of which is vasicine, along with flavonoids and other plant compounds.
In Ayurveda, vasaka is valued as a traditional herb for the respiratory system, and it is a key ingredient in classical preparations such as Vasavaleha and Vasarishta. For capsules it is used either as dried leaf powder or as a leaf extract standardised to vasicine.
Vasaka Capsules are filled as a fine powder or extract into hard capsules, either HPMC (vegetarian) or gelatin, usually in size 0 or 00. The fill weight, the strength of the active material and any partner ingredients are set in the specification, so every capsule in a batch carries the same amount. Capsules also hide the taste and smell of the raw material, which makes them easier for customers to take every day than a loose powder.
Label claims must follow the rules of the market where the product is sold, and we can help you keep the wording within those limits.
The serving size should follow the finished product label. Vasaka is traditionally avoided during pregnancy, as vasicine has been reported to stimulate the uterus, so labels should advise against use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. People taking medication or living with a health condition should consult a healthcare professional before use.
Every batch is supplied with a certificate of analysis. Typical checks include botanical identity, vasicine content by HPLC (for extracts), loss on drying, heavy metals, microbiology, and capsule weight variation and disintegration.
Ask for identity testing to confirm Adhatoda vasica, as leaves from other shrubs are sometimes mixed in, and ask for vasicine content if you want a standardised extract.
Vasaka leaf powder has a bitter taste and a strong smell, so capsules are the easiest format for customers; keep the powder dry and sealed.
