Mint Capsules
Part of our Capsules range, manufactured and exported by Arizone International LLP.
Mint Capsules are herbal supplements made from dried mint leaves, most often spearmint (Mentha spicata) or field mint (Mentha arvensis), the familiar pudina of Indian kitchens. Mint's cool, fresh aroma and its long use as a digestive herb make it a simple and popular after-meal supplement.
Arizone International manufactures and supplies Mint Capsules with mint leaf powder or extract, for digestive wellness brands, nutraceutical companies and private label businesses. (Peppermint Capsules are listed separately.)
Pudina: India's Everyday Mint
Mint grows easily almost anywhere with water, and in India it is used in chutneys, raita, chaas, pani puri water and summer drinks. India is also the world's largest producer of mint oil, with vast fields of Mentha arvensis in Uttar Pradesh, especially around Barabanki, Rampur and Sambhal. Much of the world's natural menthol comes from these fields.
The mint family is large, and different species taste different. Spearmint is sweet and gentle, with little menthol. Field mint and peppermint are stronger and more cooling because they are rich in menthol.
What Mint Leaves Contain
- Essential OilCarvone in spearmint, or menthol and menthone in field mint.
- Rosmarinic AcidA polyphenol found in most mint species.
- FlavonoidsSuch as luteolin and eriocitrin.
- Fibre and MineralsPresent in whole-leaf powder.
Applications
- After-meal digestive comfort supplements
- Bloating and gas relief blends with fennel, ajwain or ginger
- Breath freshness and oral wellness products
- Summer cooling and Ayurvedic digestive formulas
- Spearmint-based women's wellness products
- Private label herbal ranges
Spearmint tea has been studied in small trials for its effects in women with hormonal imbalances, which has made spearmint capsules popular in some women's wellness ranges. Claims should remain cautious and follow local rules.
Formulation Options
We can fill capsules with dried leaf powder or a concentrated extract of spearmint or field mint, typically 300 mg to 500 mg per capsule. For stronger digestive products, a small amount of mint oil can be included. Vegetarian HPMC capsules, bottles and blisters are available.
Safety Notes
Mint can relax the valve between the stomach and food pipe, so people with acid reflux or heartburn may find it makes symptoms worse. Concentrated mint products should be used with care during pregnancy. People with gallstones should seek advice before using menthol-rich products.
Quality Considerations
- Mentha species identity (spearmint, field mint or other)
- Volatile oil content and aroma
- Colour, moisture and stalk content
- Pesticide residues, heavy metals and microbiology
- Batch consistency and Certificate of Analysis
Tips for Buyers and Formulators
Mint capsules are often combined with fennel and ginger for digestive comfort after meals. Choose spearmint for a milder flavour or peppermint for a stronger, cooler effect, and consider enteric-coated capsules if you use mint oil.
Keep mint capsules sealed and cool to protect the aroma.
