Chicory Capsules are herbal supplements made from the root of Cichorium intybus, a hardy plant with sky-blue flowers that grows wild along roadsides in Europe, Asia and India. The root is best known as a coffee substitute and as the world's main commercial source of inulin, a prebiotic fibre.

Chicory in Everyday Life
Many South Indian filter coffee blends contain a share of roasted chicory root, which adds body, a darker colour and a slightly bitter note. The same habit exists in New Orleans, France and Belgium. During coffee shortages in wartime Europe, roasted chicory often replaced coffee altogether.
In Unani medicine chicory is called Kasni and is valued as a liver and digestive herb. It is also one of the herbs in some well-known Ayurvedic liver tonics. India grows chicory commercially, especially in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, mainly for the coffee trade.

Formulation Options
