Peppermint Extract is a dry powder extract made from the leaves of peppermint (Mentha x piperita). Unlike steam-distilled peppermint oil, which is mostly menthol, the extract also carries the leaf's water-soluble polyphenols and flavonoids.

About Peppermint
Peppermint is a natural hybrid of water mint and spearmint, grown for its cooling, aromatic leaves. India is the world's largest producer of mint and mint oils, mainly from Uttar Pradesh.
How Peppermint Extract Is Made
Dried leaves are extracted with water or water-ethanol, then filtered, concentrated and dried into a fine green-brown powder. Process conditions decide how much of the volatile menthol is kept.
