Gokshura Extract, also known as Tribulus Terrestris Extract, is a concentrated powder made from the fruit, or sometimes the whole plant, of Tribulus terrestris. It is standardised to steroidal saponins and is one of the most widely used herbal ingredients in sports nutrition, men's vitality and urinary wellness supplements.

About Gokshura
Tribulus terrestris is a low, spreading herb with small yellow flowers and hard, spiny fruits. It grows wild in the dry, sandy regions of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and many other parts of India, as well as in southern Europe, Africa and Asia. In Ayurveda, it is called Gokshura and is traditionally used as a tonic for the urinary system and for vitality. It is a key ingredient of Gokshuradi Guggulu. Tribulus from different regions can have quite different saponin profiles.
How Gokshura Extract Is Made
Dried fruits are ground and extracted with water-alcohol. The extract is filtered, concentrated and spray dried into a fine, yellowish-brown powder with a bitter taste. Higher-saponin grades are purified further to concentrate the active compounds.

Research Interest
Tribulus has been studied for athletic performance, testosterone, sexual wellness and urinary health. Results have been mixed, and effects on testosterone in healthy men have not been consistently shown. These are research findings, not approved health claims.
