Aloe Vera Extracts are premium botanical ingredients derived from Aloe barbadensis Miller, commonly known as Aloe Vera — one of the most widely used botanical plants in wellness, personal care, cosmetic, and herbal formulations, valued for its unique natural composition and versatile commercial applications.
The extract is obtained by careful processing of selected Aloe Vera plant material, primarily the inner leaf gel, to yield a concentrated botanical ingredient available in customized specifications for manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, private-label brands, cosmetic companies and nutraceutical businesses.
What Is Aloe Vera Extract?
Aloe Vera is a succulent plant belonging to the Aloe genus. The thick, fleshy leaves of the plant store a clear inner gel that has gained popularity in traditional botanical preparations as well as commercial formulations.
Aloe Vera Extract is produced by careful processing of selected plant material — primarily the inner leaf gel — into a concentrated botanical ingredient offered in powder or other customized forms, for ease of formulation, handling, storage and production.
Natural Botanical Profile
Aloe Vera contains a diverse range of naturally occurring botanical constituents that contribute to its distinctive profile:
- Naturally Occurring PolysaccharidesPolysaccharides form an important, well-documented part of Aloe Vera's botanical composition.
- Amino Acids & Plant CompoundsThe plant also contains amino acids, organic acids, enzymes, vitamins, minerals and other naturally occurring botanical constituents.
- Versatile & Widely AdoptedA preferred ingredient across wellness, cosmetic and personal-care formulations, and popular in modern plant-based product development.
Tips for Buyers and Formulators
Aloe vera extract is sold in several forms, so start by choosing the one that fits your product. Spray-dried powders are usually labelled by concentration, such as 100:1 or 200:1, which tells you how much fresh inner leaf gel went into each part of powder. A 200:1 powder can be mixed back with water to make a single-strength juice or gel, which saves a great deal on freight compared with shipping liquid. Ask for acemannan (polysaccharide) content on the COA, as this is the most useful marker for comparing quality between suppliers.
For drinks and oral supplements, choose decolourised inner leaf material with aloin below the limit set in your market, commonly 10 ppm or lower, because whole leaf material with aloin has a laxative effect and is restricted in several countries. For cosmetics, check the powder for microbiology and ask for a preservative-free grade if your formula already has its own preservative system. Aloe powder absorbs moisture quickly, so keep it in sealed, lined drums with a desiccant and reseal opened packs straight away. If you need an organic or IASC-style certificate for your market, tell us at the enquiry stage so we can confirm availability before quoting.
